Uster Technologies’ products are used as standard references for quality control in the global textile industry.The textile production chain involves a number of steps, from the ginning of cotton and the production of yarn (either from the spinning of cotton or wool, or the synthesis of filament yarns), through to the weaving and knitting that produces raw fabric, to the dyeing, finishing and final transformation into finished textile products. The Company provides testing and monitoring equipment from the time the cotton is picked to the time it is transformed into raw fabric.
Fiber and yarn testing can be performed either in quality control laboratories, such as those of regulatory agencies and producers, by measuring samples, including raw material and production batches, or as an integral part of the production process. Tests are carried out by spinning and weaving mills as well as by government classing offices around the world. Uster Technologies Ltd equipment is used to test short staples (cotton, short synthetic fibers), long staples (wool) and filaments (infinite synthetics). The products are based on sensor technologies which allow the detection of defects, faults or foreign particles in the material with high precision and at very high speed.

Gin Process Controlling
The USTER® INTELLIGIN measurements enable the ginners to clean and dry the cotton at optimal levels, thereby maximizing output and fiber quality, and adding value to the cotton grower. -
Fiber Testing
The USTER® HVI is able to measure fiber length, length uniformity, strength, elongation, color, trash contents, fiber maturity and moisture, which are indicators of quality of fibers. This product is used by all major cotton classing operations around the world and USTER® HVI values are regarded as the defacto standard for the trading of cotton worldwide. -
Yarn Testing
Uster Technologies Ltd provides mills with USTER® SLIVERGUARD to permanently monitor the count variations and levels of sliver in the yarn. In addition, USTER® TESTER, USTER® TENSOJET, USTER® TENSORAPID and USTER® CLASSIMAT are the industry’s standard both in cotton and filament evenness testing and the testing of yarn strength. -
Yarn Clearing
USTER® QUANTUM is believed to be the most sensitive and reliable yarn clearing system available in the market today. Yarn clearers are used to detect and eliminate faults and foreign fibers. -
Fabric Quality Assurance
Once the spinning process is complete, USTER® TENSOJET and USTER® CLASSIMAT allow weaving and knitting mills to test incoming yarn for strength and various disturbing defects. -
